Kurzbeschreibung:

The Columbus project deals with mobility in the modern world, the core topics being travelling, tourism, migration and integration as well as mobility and innovation in the world of economy and education. Sustainability is an essential aspect of all these topics. Within each topic we take our starting point in the daily lives and experiences of the students and move on to social, cultural and ecological issues. Within the topic of travelling and tourism in the past and the present we are concerned with the expansion of the human mind and the effects of travelling. When dealing with migration we focus on various causes of migration and the importance of education, integration and employment in combating poverty and social exclusion. The final aspect will be the challenges for young people in studying and working abroad. For each topic there will be detailed tasks provided by international teachers? teams, which all the (inter)national groups work on within the same period of time. All tasks and results will be published on the Internet and thus be available to everyone. In the course of the project teaching materials are produced which can also be used by other teachers and schools.
